The Gallup
Institute, a leading strategic consultancies in the world, studied the performance
of hundreds of organizations around the world to map the commitment of its
employees . Among other findings, it was revealed that the metrics of the
teams performance analysis varied widely between areas. This change occurred
because of inconsistency with which people are led. That is, the performance of
the areas was directly influenced by the quality of their managers. The sample
included from micro to large organizations, which reveals that the lack of
effective management is democratic: it has no relation to the size or nature of
business.
Another Gallup: a survey by the institution points out that
only one in ten people have talent to lead, although most people have the
necessary requirements. That is, only 10% of these people perfectly combine the
skills required to lead a team to deliver their best efforts in the search for
great results.
Whereas we have much more demands for management positions
than natural leaders, what can companies do to solve this equation? With the
